Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist that has been approved by Health Canada for the treatment of Type-2 diabetes, and is also prescribed for weight loss in a program that includes diet and exercise.

Valuable information and resources are available with your DIN.

How does Mounjaro work?

Mounjaro is the first and only once-a-week medicine that activates two receptors: GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1). This increases insulin production while decreasing glucagon levels, which, in turn, decreases blood glucose levels in the body. It also reduces food intake, and slows down the speed at which your stomach digests food.
